Royal Caribbean’s Allure of the Seas hit a snag mid-cruise — and here’s what passengers need to know about the itinerary shake-up.

Propulsion Problem Forces Itinerary Change

The Allure of the Seas is dealing with a technical issue involving one of its propulsion systems. The problem forced the ship to slow down and skip a scheduled port stop.

Royal Caribbean shared a statement directly with passengers on board. “While our team works to resolve this, we’ll be sailing at a reduced speed and will need to make a slight adjustment to our itinerary,” the company explained.

Which Port Got Dropped?

The Allure of the Seas left Port Everglades on May 24, 2026. The six-night cruise was originally set to visit Nassau, Perfect Day at CocoCay, and Falmouth, Jamaica.

The Jamaica stop was the casualty. Royal Caribbean canceled the Falmouth port call, which had been scheduled for Wednesday, May 27, 2026.

Nassau Steps In — Twice

Instead of heading to Jamaica, the ship sailed to Nassau. It arrived at 1:45 AM, with guests able to go ashore around 7:30 AM once the ship cleared customs and gangways were set up.

Passengers had a full day in Nassau before the ship departed at 5:30 PM. Thursday, May 28, was spent at sea as originally planned. The ship then returned to Nassau on Friday, May 29 for a second full-day visit.

How Royal Caribbean Is Making It Right

The cruise line didn’t leave passengers empty-handed. “We’re terribly sorry for this last-minute change. Please know that your safety and comfort are always our top priorities,” the company said.

As a goodwill gesture, Royal Caribbean offered onboard credits to all guests. Here’s how the breakdown looks:

• Inside and oceanview cabins: $100 per room
• Balcony cabins: $150 per room
• Suites: $200 per room
• Third and fourth guests: An additional $50 each

What About Pre-Booked Shore Excursions?

If you booked a shore excursion through Royal Caribbean for Falmouth, you don’t need to do anything. The company will automatically refund those excursions as refundable onboard credit.

The CocoCay Visit Still Happened

Not everything changed. The Allure of the Seas did make its stop at Perfect Day at CocoCay, Royal Caribbean’s private island in the Bahamas. That visit went ahead as planned on Monday, May 25, 2026.

So while losing Jamaica was disappointing, passengers still got some beach time in the Bahamas — plus an extra day in Nassau and a little cash to spend on board.
