Fresh Pesto

Create a beautiful fresh-from-the-herb-garden pesto sauce in only a few minutes.

  • Food Processor


  • 1 Cup Fresh Basil Leaves, packed
  • 1 Clove Garlic
  • 1/8 Cup Pine Nuts You Can Substitute Walnuts
  • 1/3 Cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • Sea Salt and Pepper to Taste
  • 1/4 Cup Freshly Grated Parmigiano Reggiano Cheese You Can Substitute Parmigiano Grana Cheese


  • Combine the basil, garlic and pine nuts in a food processor and pulse until coarsely chopped.
  • While pulsing, slowly add the olive oil.
  • Process until all ingredients are well blended.
  • Add salt and pepper to taste and pulse until smooth.
  • Stir in the grated cheese or sprinkle on top.


This can be frozen in an air-tight container but don't add the cheese.  Drizzle a little oil over the top before freezing.  Thaw and then stir in cheese or sprinkle on top.
