Ingredients
1CupFresh Basil Leaves, packed
1 CloveGarlic
1/8Cup Pine NutsYou Can Substitute Walnuts
1/3 Cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Sea Salt and Pepper to Taste
1/4CupFreshly Grated Parmigiano Reggiano CheeseYou Can Substitute Parmigiano Grana Cheese
Instructions
Combine the basil, garlic and pine nuts in a food processor and pulse until coarsely chopped.
While pulsing, slowly add the olive oil.
Process until all ingredients are well blended.
Add salt and pepper to taste and pulse until smooth.
Stir in the grated cheese or sprinkle on top.
Notes
This can be frozen in an air-tight container but don't add the cheese. Drizzle a little oil over the top before freezing. Thaw and then stir in cheese or sprinkle on top.
