An upgraded Majesty of the Seas moves to Port Canaveral.
Voom wifi? Yes, that’s what guests will find on 3- and 4-night Bahamas cruises aboard the Majesty of the Seas when Royal Caribbean plays the cruise ship shuffle once again. After the Majesty of the Seas adds this new high-speed wifi and a host of timely upgrades, the ship will head to its new home in Port Canaveral, summer 2016.
Before the ship is moved to Port Canaveral, the Majesty of the Seas will undergo a fairly thorough upgrade while in dry dock in the Bahamas.
Lido Deck
Families will all be able to enjoy a bit of Jacuzzi-time together along with the addition of new waterslides. By the pool, there’ll be an outdoor movie screen (with free popcorn I hope!) Watching movies outdoors while at sea is a wonderful way to relax, get fresh air and catch up on your missed movies.
For kids, they’re adding the Dreamworks Experience to feature activities and entertainment with Shrek, Fiona and other favorite characters from the Dreamworks repertoire of hit animated classics.
Dining enhancements
Added to the dining venues list will include Izumi featuring Japanese cuisine with fresh sushi and sashimi and Sabor Taqueria, with a contemporary spin on authentic Mexican dishes, including hand-made table-side guacamole. For those who want an exclusive night out, guests can reserve a seat at the Chef’s Table for an intimate wine pairing dinner hosted by the Executive Chef and Sommelier.
Casino and Suites
An enhanced casino will offer gamers a variety of the latest popular slot machines and table games. Suite guests will now received exclusive amenities and services as part of a newly enhanced suite program. More on that as details become available.
Itinerary
Majesty of the Seas will sail 3- and 4-night cruises to the Bahamas with visits to the cruise line’s private island destination, CocoCay, featuring an aquatic park and water slide, beach volleyball and soccer, snorkeling and other water-based recreation. And of course, there’s the extensive outdoor BBQ buffet.
New ship to Tampa, too.
Instead of the original plan to send the Rhapsody of the Seas to Port Canaveral to do the short Bahamas runs, the Rhapsody will instead head to Tampa in winter 2016 for 7-night Western Caribbean cruises.
Reservations are now available for sailings beginning May 27, 2016 aboard the Majesty of the Seas. Also available to reserve now are the Tampa sailings for the Rhapsody of the Seas beginning December 3, 2016.
